As we’re entering week 1 of THE WISE ELDERS | BY THE RIVER | Or The Art Of Journaling Emotions, we cannot help but catch ourselves feeling (indeed) like a river meandering with the land, reminiscing the wondrous journey leading to, not just the inception of a significant wrinkle in time, but perhaps more so, of all the blissful synchronicities, culminating into the manifestation of an undying vision into tangible reality.
Our new landmark exhibition unveils, for the first time in Amsterdam, to worldwide audiences, a new body of truly remarkable works on canvases, by the award-winning hyperrealist visual artist, Eddy Ochieng.
While both series emerged from and through Ochieng’s specific human encounters in Nairobi, Kenya, his awe inspiring paintings suggests that universality is discovered only through our attention to one another.
Through the mere act of looking, the distances dissolve between Nairobi and Amsterdam, between one generation and the next, between artist and viewer, between stranger and familiar.
I am not one for cheap sentiment, but this show is nothing short of a marvel. I have to pinch myself, just to make sure I am not dreaming, and if I am, please don’t ever wake me up.
Our gallery’s doors open once again to the public, starting tomorrow, and we look forward to greeting many a kindred souls in the coming weeks alone.
If perchance, you are a self assumed art lover, a lover of beauty, or simply a drifting seraph, then you simply must partake in this bounty.
In these current times, our soul needs nurturing, you need it, I need it, the world needs it, we all need it.
