Expéditions Internationales - Paiements Sécurisés - Certificats d'Authenticité

The countdown has officially started until the launch of the 39th edition of PAN Amsterdam, the Netherlands’ premiere fair for art, antiques, and design.

To mark our inaugural participation, the gallery is presenting THE BEACH IS IN THE FOREST, an ambitious group exhibition, curated specifically for this event.

Navigating complex thematics surrounding notions of memory preservation, historical erasure, identity, and spirituality, across Afro-diasporic worlds, the exhibition showcases works in fine art painting, sculpture and photography by world-renowned modern masters and trailblazing contemporary artists including: Dominique Zinkpè, Gérard Quenum, Nicola Lo Calzo, Eddy Ochieng, Elon M Tossou, Wabi Dossou and Nathanaël Vodouhè.

Additionally, we have been invited to take part in the fair's enticing PAN Podium Program, through a panel discussion entitled “Echoes From Home”, along with critically acclaimed photographer ad PhD researcher Nicola Lo Calzo, who's making the trip from Paris and Judith Van Der Kooij, Advisor International Culture & Mobility at DutchCulture.

At a time, when notions of historical erasure, cultural lineage, race and identity continue to reshape modern societies across the globe, our panel discussion will explore how the concept of home can exist across several geographies; how memory can collapse distances, and how tradition can survive transformation, resisting the claim for singular definitions of origin or belonging, to ultimately  postulates that identity is sedimentary: formed through accumulation, rupture, encounter, remembrance and renewal.

Highlighted in this particular panel discussion, is a foundational component of our recent landmark exhibition, THE LIVING ARCHIVES | MEMORIES BEYOND THE ATLANTIC, and specifically Lo Calzo's compelling visual chronicles entitled AGOUDAS | AFRICAN MEMORIES | BETWEEN PRIVATE TRANSMISSION AND PUBLIC APPROPRIATION,

4 iconic works from Lo Calzo's series AGOUDAS will be taking center stage on our booth during the fair.

We would like to thank Margitte Verwoerd, PAN's Head of Programme, Partnerships and Events, for orchestrating this moment of communion, and the fair's Director, Mark Grol for his sustained stewardship.

PAN Podium is supported by VandenEden Foundation.

We look forward to greeting you all in person at the fair.
